Different Strokes

Posted by on March 10, 2012

We’ve had a recent taste of “cruising” in the sense that a lot of other people go “cruising.”  Since we’ve been trapped in Thompson Bay with these high winds and we’ve slowed down a bit and started doing things that normally aren’t on our usual activity list.  We’ve read a lot of books, watched a few movies, the other night we went to a cruiser’s jam night, and tonight we’re headed for a happy hour on the beach (at 4:00.)

It’s not our normal snorkel/scuba/fishing/adventure experience, but it’s nice for a change of pace.  We just filled up with water and now we’re headed back to our anchorage in the north of Thompson Bay.  There’s supposed to be a weather window later this week so we’re getting things ready for a jump to the remote island chain of Crooked/Acklins.  Hopefully these “remote islands” are more remote than the supposedly remote Jumentos.  We’ll see.

Eventually we’ll find that “One Particular Harbor,” but the search is half the fun.

Keep looking for that harbor!!!…..and then don’t tell anyone….but us…next winter.

We are getting Minx ready for the water in early March since we have 70F days all week. unbelievable.

Rich already has Patriot Dreams uncovered and waxed. He’s making us look bad at Team Minx.

The photos and write-ups are really good. keep ’em coming.

BTW: All the cats at BBYH say hi to Nermal. They are well fed and come running when diesel pickup trucks drive into the marina. they must think the White Truck is like a jumbo mother cat.

    Cheers, Jay & Tanya

Nermal is glad to hear that all his relatives are doing well. I can’t believe that after two years of horrible snow (that in no small part encouraged us to head south,) now Maryland gets mild temperatures and you’re already dropping the boats back in! Tell Rich we said Hi and tell Bill that he better have his boat in before we arrive in June! Also, there’s a guest cabin open and it’s headed for the Jumentos next week… just a thought 🙂
