Cumberland Island
We made a great journey yesterday, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Fernandina Beach and Florida, crossing the state line into Georgia, and stepping back in time. We arrived at Cumberland Island, Georgia’s largest barrier island, which is completely undeveloped and maintained as it existed in yesteryear. Our journey was about 2 nautical miles. … Continue reading
We’re Back!
[Update: Apparently my phone had some problems with the post from yesterday, this was edited for clarity.] 55 hours later, we have arrived in Fernandina Beach, FL. Georgetown and Rat Cay
After our overnight trip to Georgetown, we spent a couple of days anchored off of Sand Dollar Beach in Elizabeth Harbor. The winds were still strong so we worked on some projects on board and accomplished what we termed a “reset.” We reviewed and consolidated our remaining provisions and reorganized things in storage to work … Continue reading
Acklins to Georgetown
[Now that we can post remotely, the flood gates are open, expect up to the minute updates! (No, not really.)] After our fun in the Bight of Acklins (summarized by Sabrina in the previous post below,) we planned to head straight back to Georgetown on an overnight sail. The boat was getting low on fresh … Continue reading
Hopefully this looks right!?
[Yesterday we had some issues with formatting and our remote posts. Sorry if this is formatted poorly, I don’t have a wifi signal to take it down, just bear with it until we get back to civilization and I’ll fix it. Also, it would be great if someone reading this would call us and leave … Continue reading
Posting on the go!
I’ve finally figured it out! We can now post to the blog via email. Once I figure out how to send emails via satellite phone, we’ll be able to stay in touch anywhere in the world.
