We’re tucked in safe here at Old Port Cove Marina in North Palm Beach, gotta run some errands, check the weather, and see when we’re leaving for our crossing. We hit some adverse current and it was easier to keep going through a second night rather than duck into Cape Canaveral yesterday afternoon.
Fernandina Beach was a nice little community, I think it was far enough north in Florida that it’s not just transplants and retirees. They have a rich history and we’d like to go back to check out Fort Clinch and the museums, not to mention the fresh seafood. As promised, here’s pics from the trip from Morehead City to Fernandina:
Great Pics….I saw in the background of “Our next anchor” a sign that said “Brett’s Wa____” top right of the picture. What was that?
It was like “Brett’s Waterfront Cafe” or something. We didn’t eat there, there were too many choices in town. I highly recommend the Karibrew Cafe (microbrewery with an awesome burger) if you get to Fernandina.
That area is so close to us. We like to head down to Jacksonville and St. Augustine for little weekend trips. Fernandina would be about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car.
Well, if you get down there, check out the Karibrew! We’ll let you know when we’re headed north, Fernandina was a really easy port and had nice moorings. It’d be a great place to get together. Merry Christmas!
